Sculptor
Gabrielle M. Horvath was born in Hungary and
fled to Canada with her mother during the
1956 revolution. Ms. Horvath’s education in
art has spanned the last twenty five years
in various parts of Canada and the United
States. Her art education includes working
with talented artists and teacher sculptor
Attila Keszei in Toronto, the Art Student’s
League, C.W. Post University in New York,
and Scottsdale School of Art in Arizona.
While living in N.Y. one of her private
commissions was to create a bust of boxing
great Jake LaMotta of “Raging Bull” fame.
Mr. LaMotta was so impressed with
Gabrielle’s work that he referred her to
numerous other boxing “greats” such as Ken
Norton, Archie Moore and more recently,
Canadian hero, George Chuvalo. In the early
90’s Ms. Horvath’s interest in “lifecasting”
combined with her sculpture abilities,
brought about the figures she now works with
today.
Horvath’s
work has been exhibited at The Meisner
Foundry, The Long Island Art League and at
numerous solo and group shows in the Toronto
area. Her work was also showcased in
publications such as New York’s Distinction
magazine and more recently the Toronto
magazine, North of the City. She has
appeared on Toronto Breakfast Television,
and Hamilton network CHTV showcased her
talent in front of a live audience
