TURKEWITSCH-HORTHY, EVA

Born in Hungary, Eva immigrated to Canada as a very young child with her parents. She comes from an artistic family; both her father and her mother are successful and active artists. Following this rich tradition, Eva received her Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Waterloo and her Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto. For more than a decade Eva taught while painting and exhibiting her work. She now devotes her full attention to painting. She works at her North Toronto studio and exhibits in galleries and art shows in Canada, the United States and Europe.
Eva finds her artistic inspiration during her frequent world travels. Her current works feature environmental themes, including renewable and alternative sources of energy, pollution, and protection of natural resources. Some of these new mixed-media pieces incorporate recycled and re purposed materials.

The Circle

Budapesten született, ahonnan szüleivel kislány korában Kanadába emigrált. Művészi családból származik, szülei mindketten sikeres és aktív festők, ezért érthető, hogy Éva is a művészi pályát választotta. A Waterlooi Egyetemen képzőművészetből, majd később a Torontói Egyetemen tanári diplomát szerzett. Több mint tíz évig tanított, mialatt festett és kiállította festményeit. Ma már teljes idejét a festésnek szenteli észak-torontói stúdiójában.

Munkáit galériákban és kiállításokon mutatja be Kanadában, az Egyesült Államokban és Európában. Éva gyakori utazása a világban nagy hatással van művészetére. Jelenleg festményeiben környezetvédelmi témákat dolgoz fel, mint megújuló és alternatív energiaforrásokat, a környezetszennyezést és a természeti kincsek védelmét hangsúlyozza. Vegyes technikával festett képei készítésekor gyakran alkalmaz újra hasznosított és hasznosítható anyagokat.
